  • Typical Salary Range:

    Typical entry level positions start around $40,000 per year while the most skilled and experienced workers can make $70,000 or more per year.*

  • Typical Duties/Responsibilities:

    Conducting thorough inspections of crane components, such as the hoist, trolley, boom, and wire ropes, to identify any signs of wear, damage, or malfunction that could compromise safety or performance. Crane inspectors also review maintenance records, test certificates, and load charts to ensure that cranes are operated within their rated capacities and in compliance with safety regulations. Additionally, they may provide recommendations for repairs, maintenance, or upgrades to ensure the safe and efficient operation of cranes and lifting equipment.

  • Typical Experience/Training:

    At least 18 Years Old. Typically receives training and hands-on experience prior to taking a required certification exam. Typically has previous experience and certifications related to various crane roles such as mobile crane operator, tower operator, rigger, and signalperson. Certification for crane inspector required.
